At Lisbon Bike Rentals, our bike rental service operates on a per-day basis rather than 24-hour periods. This approach ensures that each bike undergoes thorough checking and cleaning before the next guest's adventure begins. While some models offer hourly or half-day rentals, our focus remains on providing convenience and flexibility for longer-term rentals.
We recommend to use our Insurance in order to protected you from damages in a rental equipment. Please notice that deposits are mandatory to keep our bikes without damages and secure for thief or losses.

Rental day period starts at 9:00 and ends at 18:00. Pickups and bicycle returns are made in our Lisbon Location shop at Av. 24 de Julho 4A, Lisboa.

You can always request a professional guide if you feel you need support during your ride in Lisbon. Simply choose the extra option at the end of your reservation.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A RENTAL?
- Bicycle with flat pedals and bottle cage.
- Cleat pedals can be optional as extra equipment.
- Repair kits (mini-pump or Co2 cartridge, tire levers, wheel-tool and spare tube) are provided with the rental.
- Customers are responsible for any lost items or tubes used.
- Helmets are available with your bike as extra equipment.
- Bike Locks can be rented as extra equipment.
What to bring?:

"Bring your cycling equipment or comfortable clothing to ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride. Proper cycling gear, such as a helmet, gloves, and padded shorts, can enhance your comfort and safety. Alternatively, if you prefer, wear breathable, moisture-wicking clothing that allows for ease of movement. Comfortable footwear, such as athletic shoes, is also recommended to ensure a secure grip on the pedals. Additionally, don’t forget to bring water to stay hydrated and sun cream to protect your skin from UV rays. Being well-prepared with the right attire, hydration, and sun protection will help you fully enjoy your cycling experience."
-We do not rent cycling shoes!
Please bring the shoes you choose to ride in. We recommend you to bring your pedals as well. Yet you can rent cleats pedals as extra equipment or get a flat pedal platform for free. Bring any items that might make your riding experience better (saddle, cycling shorts, cycling computer, front or rear hydration systems).
You can adquire one of our Cycling bottles in your order.

Booking policy
Rentals must be picked up at least 30 minutes before store closing at 6 PM. Rates are based on a 24-hour rental period, and rental items must be returned on the reservation end date you select. A reservation guarantees a bike for the exact dates chosen. If you select a single-day rental, the bike must be returned that same day. To rent a bike from one day to the next, please indicate this by selecting the appropriate dates in your reservation.
You will need to enter your credit card information to secure your reservation. Your card will not be charged the full amount until you return the bike(s), and you may choose your payment method at that time.
We do not offer pickup and delivery services for bikes.
All the pick-ups and drop-offs have to be done at our LBR Shop / Well Being Cycling in Lisbon.
However we are quite central and you can be on our shop by train or metro, and you can start a nice ride from here
REFUND RULES and cancelations
Every day, we work diligently to ensure all bikes are ready for our customers and cycling friends. This means that bookings are reserved for specific periods, preventing other cyclists from accessing those bikes. We can only accept changes to reservations up to 7 days before the scheduled pickup of any cycling equipment.
All reservations can be canceled within 24 hours of booking payment without incurring any fees. For cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled departure, no refund will be issued.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF HIRE
LISBON BIKE RENTALS®
A copy of this Rental Agreement and General Conditions shall be sent electronically to the Customer upon signature.
This Rental Agreement is entered into between LISBON BIKE RENTALS® (“LBR”) and the Customer identified in the Rental Document. By signing electronically, the Customer confirms having read, understood, and accepted these General Conditions.
The rental process and signature may be executed electronically and may be supported by video, photographic, and audio records for security, fraud prevention, equipment inspection, and evidentiary purposes, in accordance with applicable Portuguese law and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. RENTAL PERIOD
The rental period begins and ends on the dates and times stated in the Rental Document.
Standard rental hours are from 09:00 to 18:00 unless otherwise agreed in writing.
LISBON BIKE RENTALS® is closed on Mondays unless otherwise agreed in writing. Returns or pickups scheduled outside opening days or hours require prior written authorization.
All rented equipment must be returned on the agreed date, time, and location.
Late returns may incur additional charges corresponding to 20% of the daily rental value per additional hour.
Failure to return rented equipment without prior authorization may result in recovery measures and communication to the competent authorities.
2. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
The Customer confirms being physically capable and sufficiently experienced to operate premium bicycle equipment safely and responsibly.
The Customer is fully responsible for:
- the safekeeping and correct use of all rented equipment;
- compliance with Portuguese road, civil, and criminal laws;
- any rider using the rented equipment under this agreement.
The rented equipment may not:
- leave Portuguese territory;
- be used in races, competitions, or commercial activities;
- be transferred, lent, or sub-rented to third parties.
All riders must be at least 16 years old.
3. EQUIPMENT CONDITION
The Customer confirms having inspected the rented equipment upon collection and acknowledges that it was delivered in good working condition unless otherwise recorded at pickup.
Any issue existing at delivery must be reported within one (1) hour of collection.

LBR may photograph or video record the rented equipment before and after the rental period for inspection and evidence purposes.
4. DAMAGE, LOSS & THEFT
The Customer shall be financially liable for:
- all repair costs including labor and replacement parts;
- replacement value where repair is impossible or economically unreasonable;
- theft, loss, disappearance, seizure, or non-return of equipment;
- transport, recovery, inspection, and administrative costs;
- loss-of-use compensation during repair, replacement, inspection, or recovery periods.
Loss-of-use compensation shall be calculated according to the standard daily rental rate applicable to the affected equipment.
In case of irreparable damage or non-return, the Customer shall pay the current manufacturer retail price or equivalent market value determined by LISBON BIKE RENTALS®.
The Customer expressly authorizes LISBON BIKE RENTALS® to retain partially or fully the security deposit and additionally charge the payment method provided for any damages, losses, repair costs, replacement costs, recovery expenses, administrative costs, or loss-of-use compensation exceeding the deposit amount.
5. SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit is mandatory and shall be charged or pre-authorized by credit card at pickup.
The deposit does not limit the Customer’s financial liability under this Agreement.
6. ASSISTANCE & EXCLUDED COSTS
The rental price excludes:
- mechanical assistance outside LBR facilities;
- transportation or recovery of equipment;
- fines, parking fees, tolls, or penalties;
- damages caused by accidents or third parties.
Any transportation or recovery service requested by the Customer shall be charged according to the current LISBON BIKE RENTALS® price list.
7. CLEANING
Returned equipment requiring excessive cleaning, including mud, saltwater exposure, sand, or abnormal dirt conditions, may incur a cleaning fee of:

8. LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Cycling and outdoor activities involve inherent risks including serious injury or death.
The Customer voluntarily assumes all risks arising from the use of rented equipment.
LISBON BIKE RENTALS® shall not be liable for accidents, injuries, losses, damages, delays, or claims arising from the use of rented equipment except in cases of proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct by LISBON BIKE RENTALS®.
9. INSURANCE
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, LISBON BIKE RENTALS® does not provide insurance coverage for theft, loss, accidental damage, or personal injury.
Customers are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel, liability, and sports insurance coverage.
10. CANCELLATION POLICY
Bookings are refundable up to seven (7) days before the rental start date.
After this period, refunds are not guaranteed. LISBON BIKE RENTALS® may offer voucher credit at its discretion.
11. IDENTIFICATION
The Customer must present a valid identification document at pickup.
A valid passport is mandatory for non-EU citizens.
12. ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES
This Contract may be executed electronically using electronic signatures to which the Parties expressly agree to attribute full legal effect pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (eIDAS Regulation) and Article 4-A of the Portuguese Commercial Companies Code.
The electronically signed version shall constitute the original agreement and shall be admissible as evidence for all legal purposes.
13. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
This Agreement shall be governed by Portuguese law.
Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be submitted to the competent courts of Lisbon, Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights applicable under law.
